Captivating album with a wide-ranging singer-songwriter sound. Careens from speak-singing growls and groussing (say, Tom Waits) to forlorn songs of love lost. Caplan's voice is expressive and dances freely, never a slave to the beat. Strong storytelling (without getting bogged down in narrative exposition). Must listen to "Down to the River". funk79

It usually takes me about 2 years for an album to really grow on me. I'm still really into The Forgettable Truth, not so forgettable as it turns out. The track Where Are You Now made a quick impression on me though. Also like love is all around and a couple others. sky-glass

Have had the pleasure of seeing Abigail perform twice (the Burdock & Winnipeg house concert). Her mad harmonic skills, compelling lyrics, and hilarious stage presence make each performance something special! heathenevelovesyou

If I were in a band like the Golden Gate Wingmen, playing songs from the Grateful Dead catalogue (the greatest songbook in the world) and other forever-glittering specimens of the art of song, like Dylan tunes, solo Beatles picks (Nobody Told Me, Any Road), Zevon, and Van Morrison's Beautiful Vision record, I would also stuff our setlists with songs from Visions of the Higher Dream. And I mean all of them. Not one song would pale in that company. That's how commanding and classic this album is. Grain Sparrow
